Faith at Home

The Files Mentioned in the September 6th sermon can be found here: There is a brief meditation on the Apostle’s Creed, and some instructions on taking a prayer walk.

Prayer Walks: Our guidance for praying the psalms also works great for walking. Simply turn it into a memory exercise while you are walking. Be sure to choose a psalm that you have already looked at once or twice and found it be helpful and a good connecting point in prayer Take one verse with you on your walk and you’ll have a chance to pray through it and commit it to memory.

The coronavirus pandemic has caused the church to think of new ways to be in ministry as we observe extra precautions for in-person activities. This page contains some options for faith development in your home.

  • We Are Still a Church: Check out the many different ways our church is working to keep people connected to one another during this time of isolation due to Coronavirus.
  • NextGen Ministries: Our Youth Minister Kyle, Pastor Ken, and some of our great Wednesday night volunteer teachers have put together some great family and children’s activities on our NextGen Ministries page.
  • Worship Services
    • In-Person Sunday Services: At 9:30 am, with restrictions during Phase 4. Click the link for more details on the expectations and guidelines for in-person worship services.
    • Video Services: A YouTube video worship service (along with a copy of our bulletin) is posted to our website’s home page every Sunday morning. Past videos and bulletins are available on the Sermons page.
    • Giving: As you choose to do what is safe for you and your family, we ask that you think about the Church and what is still needed to keep the doors open, as well as our new building being built. Our staff is still at work, and ministries are still occurring. Please consider online giving through the portal on the website or the old fashioned way by mailing your donations into the Church at 102 S Seminary St, Downs, IL 61736. Thank you, and God Bless.
    • Bishop Beard’s Sermon Series on Mark: The Bishop of our conference is offering a series of brief sermons from the Gospel of Mark. This is a great companion to our Matthew sermon series.
  • Faith at Home Downloadable Material: Our Faith at Home Downloadable Material page has links to family devotions, and spiritual discipline materials for personal study.
  • Sewing Group: There is an opportunity to help make face-masks for volunteers who are responding to COVID-19. If you would like instructions, supplies, and information please contact Jessica Burgard via email.
  • Other Ministries: Because we use the bulletin as our newsletter, we’re beginning to upload them to the website. Check the bulletins via the Sermons page to keep current with the ministries of your church family.
