The United Women in Faith (formerly United Methodist Women) meet the second Sunday at 10:30 am in the Youth Room except the months of May, June, July, and December. Ladies of any age are welcome!

The Downs United Methodist Church in partnership with Faith in Action is excited to announce the services of Faith in Action are now available to seniors in the Downs community!!
Faith in Action provides free rides to medical appointments and grocery shopping, friendly visiting, and reassuring phone calls to those 60 and older living in Bloomington, Normal, Heyworth, Hudson or Towanda. Downs has just been added to this list of areas served!

Senior Bible Study
The Senior Bible Study meets in the library Tuesdays at 10:00. Pastor Allen leads the study.
Journey Groups
What would it be like, if you had a group of people, say 5-10, who were committed, absolutely committed to helping you achieve your faith goals as you grow in Christ? People who are ready to celebrate your wins with you, and ask tough questions in the areas you’ve given permission to do so? And what if you returned that same commitment to them? To pray for them, support them, and in the words of John Wesley “watch over one another in Christian love”? Journey groups are a truly unique ministry here at Downs UMC. It is a place of powerful support in the name of Christ, loving accountability for the goals you choose to share with the group, and prayer support like no other ministry here at Downs. We currently have three groups meeting now:
- Wednesday at 4:00 PM (women only)
- Thursday at 6:00 PM (coed)
Sign up is through the church office, but the door is always open for new members, and we’d love to tell you more about them any time. (See the calendar on the home page for the latest schedule.)
