Youth Group
6-12 Grade is changing it up this summer! In order to stick with following Social Distancing guidelines, we are trying to encourage students to help form small groups that are able to meet in person. The goal of these groups is to continue Youth Ministry in the summer. We are looking to form groups of 8 or fewer students and already have some forming. These groups can meet periodically throughout the summer at the church. Contact Kyle if you or your student are interested in being part of a group!
There will not be a Zoom check in this Wednesday night.
We will not transition the 5th graders into youth group until they become 6th graders at the start of next school year.
Our Zoom ID for Wednesday Night Meetings will be – 364 098 1406 and the Password will be DUMC each week. This will not change from week to week.
Children’s Lessons
We have lessons we will post each week for our different age groups – Kids’ Ministry (3rd Grade and below), Middle School (4th/5th Grade), and Children’s Church. For access to previous lessons that we have posted, contact our Youth and Children’s Ministry Director, Kyle Boward – youth@downsumc.org
This week our lesson is about a man and a den of lions!
The Middle School Group (4th and 5th Grade) has finished their Zoom discussions for the school year, but our hopes are that we can organize some type of fun activity for them this summer. Apart from VBS, they can look forward to some type of social interaction activity as soon as we are able to get together!
Family Activities
Family Movie Night: Last year we hosted a screening of a classic movie Pilgrim’s Progress redone with some great new animation. It was a big hit for grades 3-6 or thereabouts (could be scary for the little ones). The production company has shared a link that we can email to you, so that you can watch the film again at home.
