Faith at Home

The words of Psalm 6:9 apply whether you are at church or at home: “The Lord has heard my supplication, The Lord accepts my prayer.”

Home sick, or staying away from crowds during flu season?  We’ve got you covered.  Please know that your church misses you, and looks forward to seeing you when you’re feeling better.  In the meantime we’ve got some great resources for you to explore in the links below.

Notes on Creating a Worship Experience at Home:  A short essay from Pastor Ken about creating a worshipful experience at home.  God is present with you right there at home, and there are some aspects of our church worship service that can help you connect with God in worship.

Making the Most out of the Sermons Online:  Download the Pastor’s notes for the Sundays that you weren’t able to be with us.  You can also listen to the sermons themselves. Notes will be posted Sunday morning before the service. Sermons will be uploaded a day or two after Sunday morning.

Spiritual Disciplines that You can do on Your Own:  We have a section of this website with some downloadable content. On it you can find a host of great on-your-own faith formation options. The page has instructions on a new way to pray, a Bible Study that you can do on your own or with your family, and a description of the spiritual disciplines of solitude and keeping a journal.

An Invitation From the Pastor:  If you know you’re going to be gone for several weeks, Pastor Ken invites you to consider a personalized Bible study plan.  Click here to learn more.

Keeping Up with the Ministries of Your Church Family:  Because we use the bulletin as our newsletter, we’re beginning to upload them to the website.  Click here to find them.

Online Giving Options:  As you choose to do what is safe for you and your family, we ask that you think about the Church and what is still needed to keep the doors open and the new building being built.  Our staff is still at work, ministries are still occurring.  Our lights are still on and heat is still warming our Church. We are also still working to build a new building.  Please consider online giving through the portal on the website or the old fashioned way by mailing your donations into the Church at 102 S. Seminary St. Downs, IL  61736.  Thank you and God Bless.
